Welcome to Holycross A.F.C, the heart of Football in Limerick! Established in 1967, Holycross AFC has been a cornerstone of the local community, fostering a love for the beautiful game and promoting sportsmanship, teamwork, and community spirit.

Our Mission

At Holycross AFC, our mission is to provide a positive, inclusive, and competitive environment for players of all ages and abilities. We are dedicated to developing not only skilled athletes but also responsible and respectful individuals who contribute positively to our community.

Our History

Holycross AFC was founded with a vision to create a local hub for Football enthusiasts in Limerick. Over the years, we have grown from a small club into a thriving organization with numerous teams competing at various levels. Our journey has been marked by significant achievements, both on and off the field, including league titles, cup victories, and the development of state-of-the-art facilities.

U11s Compete in Seamus O’Toole memorial tournament

Both our U11 teams played in the Seamus O’Toole Memorial tournament today in the hospital. They played super stuff but unfortunately came unstuck in the semifinals—a 3-1 defeat and a penalty shootout knockout. The boys played very well and stuck at it till the end. Five matches in four hours is not bad stuff. It’s a very good, strong squad, so a good season ahead.

U12 Girls Division 1: Holycross 2-1 Castle United

A well-deserved win for our 12A girls, beating Castle Utd 2-1 at home.
A nice Sophie Chawke finish in 1st half & an Anita Bavykina free kick in 2nd half with our goals.
Castle scored a late goal to ensure a nervy finish.
All 13 girls played their part in a great win.

Treaty United Half Time Scramble

During the FAI Division 1 game between Treaty United and Athlone Town, our teams participated in the Treaty United half-time scramble.

The atmosphere was electrifying as the young Shountrade underage players took the field to entertain the crowds.

The FAI Club Mark: Building a Successful Football Club

The FAI Club Mark is a three-tiered accreditation awarded to football clubs that demonstrate best practices in governance, management, and administration. Starting at the Entry Level, clubs progress through one-star to two-star status, implementing policies at each level to meet high standards in club operations.
